Jake and Runescape

I never met Jake in person, I was only a friend from an online video game, but in this virtual world, we spent 1,000s of hours slaying dragons and giants and all types of beasts. I always admired how good Jake was at the game. Yet he was always humble and motivated everyone around him to do better. His passing hurts my heart, I regret never getting to meet him in person. But I’m thankful for his existence and I pray for his loved ones to find strength in this time of sadness. Rest in Peace Jake, Runescape will never be the same without you.

Shredding Slopes with Jake

Jake and I had met in high school due to mutual friends. His family was loving and caring and always welcomed me and invited me places with them. I was a little shit teenager but Jake and his family accepted me. And for that I’m forever grateful. Jake is so funny when he gets comfortable around you, also very smart and good at a lot of stuff. I will miss him Dearly

Photography Assignment

Jake spontaneously agreed to hike with me in the dunes to help me with a photography assignment. I remember him running past me into the water, and startling me as he passed. I screamed and he fell to the ground in laughter.

Tognazzini’s Dockside Too

I met Jake his first day he walked in Dockside Restaurant looking for a job. I told him to talk to the owner. Very motivated, and happy. Throughout his time he was always so sweet and greeted everyone. It saddens me to see him leaving us this way. Always welcoming us to hang out on his family boat with him. Loved his job and everyone around him.. Dockside is in shock. He will always be remembered and loved by us.

Jake Stories

These stories are the most precious and valuable thing you can do for Jake’s family and friends. They give us a view of Jake we would never know unless shared! I cannot begin to express the true meaning of this now, but this living memorial will be something we can all come to when we’re feeling the void left behind and want to remember this kind soul who loved everyone.
Thank you truly for this gift <3

The Sweetest Love

I met Jake through his mom and my friend, Jen. Jake would often Facetime with Jen at work and I always made sure to pop my head in to their call to say hi to Jakie. I’ll never forget the sound of his deep voice saying “Hi Mel!” He was such a flirt and would often tell me how cute I looked that day LOL. 🙂 I felt a closeness to Jake through my friendship with his wonderful mother. Their love for each other was palpable and one of the sweetest loves I’ve ever seen. I feel lucky to have witnessed their bond and to have known a young man who was so full of love and life. RIP Jakie. One day I’ll hear you say “Hi Mel!” again. Until then, your memory will live on forever. – Mel <3

Online Game

I met Jake 6 years ago over an online game, his character had a funny name and from that day on we Skyped, snap chatted, whatever it may be to stay in touch as friends from other states would do. Every year I kept telling myself and you that I’d make it out there to spend some time on that boat and live that California life. I just wanted to say although I never got to meet you personally, I am happy to have met you in some fashion. I will never forget those long sleepless nights gaming, or our everyday shenanigans we would snap each other, and I certainly won’t forget all the uplifting conversations we had with each other while we were down in the dumps. I will miss you buddy, and I will see you when I see you, keep that chair warm for me up there❤️- Austyn

Baby sitting adventures

I use to baby sit Jake quite a bit when he was little. Man… did that little boy loves his transformers!

You are loved so much and will be very missed little cousin!

Broken Ankle

Somehow Jake convinced me to skip school one day to hang out with him and some friends at the lake. During our adventure, I had gotten stuck in the mud all the way up to my knee and broke my ankle in the process. Jake selflessly carried me over a mile uphill back to the car without a single complaint and drove me to urgent care where he had the staff considering if I was even hurt given how hard we were laughing. Then he made fun of me for the 6 weeks i was in my boot by calling me woody from toy story and saying the quote “Theres a snake in my boot!” He always made a bad situation, fun. Miss you cousin.

Gas Station Lady

I remember leaving Morro Bay to return home from the weekend and needed gas. I went inside the AM/PM to get a drink and pay for it. It was right after Jake had broke his heel. I mentioned that my son had just broke his heel to the cashier and she said “Jake is your son!, OMG I love him”, she said such glee. She continued to tell me how much she looked forward to when he would come in. He was always happy and talkative. He made time for people and was interested in their life.
